carburetor/flame arrestor

if i have a marine dominator carburetor(sea demon), can you use an automobile flame arrestor with it, if it fits a dominator carburetor?

Re: carburetor/flame arrestor

Actually, flame arrestors are only required to meet Underwriter Laboratory standards now.

Re: carburetor/flame arrestor

ITs not a matter of whether it is legal to use the flame arrestors. My carburetor is marine but not coast guard approved. But, will the flame arrestor fit on the carburetor, and will it be safe. The air filter/flame arrestor is a K&N that i am planning to use so i guess it would have the same internals as a marine flame arrestor biult by K&N? Also, i see wut u said about the backfire flame control, but wouldnt the car air filter do the same thing?
