Drive bleeds off
I did a search but surprisingly found nothing on this.
My starboard drive (Bravo 1) bleeds off (goes down) over a short period of time. It only stops when the tie bar to the port drive gets in a bind. I have to assume that it is also bleeding off while the boat is underway because I have to trim it up every so often. The hydraulic lines on the drive show no evidence of leaking. The hydraulic cylinders are clean as can be. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance, Clayton |
Re: Drive bleeds off
I have the same problem, i'm thinking the pump isn't holding pressure.........

Re: Drive bleeds off
I had same problem--in my case one of the hydraulic fittings on the manifold on the bottom of the gimble housing was not fully tight and slightest leak.
Do a search on subject or on my threads--lots of detailed suggestions there about causes and fixes |
Re: Drive bleeds off
Had this problem at the beginning of the season. The pump is not holding the pressure. Time for new seals or just replace.

Re: Drive bleeds off
Leaking pump relief valve or leaking ram seals. One or the other.

Re: Drive bleeds off
yeah.
check valve in pump overpressure (relief) valve in pump manual relief valve (in older round reservior pumps) leaking piston seal in trim ram (only need one to be bad, not both). |
Re: Drive bleeds off
I have replaced the check valves in my pumps a few times.
Does anyone have a source for just the check valves instead of buying the whole rebuild kit??? |
