302 ford distributer

I am not a ford guy.. Whats the best way to get rid of the point distributer in a 302 ford. Modify it or get a newer and wire in the spark box cluster. The cleaner the better. Thanks This is a 302 1970 motor.

What drive is it hooked up to? If it uses a shift interrupter, you'll have to spend some dollars to convert it.

Use a kit by a company called Petronix. No more points ever:) I have converted hundreds of old pints style units using their product. Complete, compact and pretty much fool proof. Uses the original distributor, coil etc. They are around 100 bucks canadian here for a kit. I always say buy two because if Murphy has his way, it will be Sunday in the middle of nowhere the day the electronics quit ;)

Check with Summit Racing. They sell several solutions to your question. I've tried to order Petronix equipment before and it is frequently on back-order.
