I have the 'o' port Edelbrock heads on the shelf, collected the rest of the stuff in the 540HP spec as well but missed out the Push rods. Which push rods would you recommend to using with Edelbrock heads. Is the length going to be that much different? Steve |

Flatlander advertises the Edelbrock heads at a great price, but quotes a 3-4 week arrival delay. On 1/24/05 Stating:
"Im sorry we are out of those heads at this time ,they would have to be put on our next stocking order which we expect to arrive in 3-4 weeks." When I asked if they would order them and have them drop shipped to my office, then said they do not do that. Seems odd to me that they cannot drop ship.. Who is offering the best price on these heads and can get them in a reasonable time? Need three sets. |

Boy! you did dig up an old one. the Edelbrock marine hard anodized cylinder head is a good decent general aftermarket aluminum head well built with good average machining , parts and with average flow numbers for a non-cnc'd head that was designed 15 or so years ago. Pretty much the same head Mercury Racing uses on the HP525efi and it does a decent job with good build quality and reliability.
Remember on a blower BBC its important to have Inconel exhaust valves for the high exhaust gas temperatures under boost. On a blower motor the overall cylinder head is somewhat less critical than it is on a naturally aspirated engine where you are trying to extract all the power you can from airflow alone and no boost. These heads will do a good job for you and I don't think investing in new more expensive aftermarket heads would be a good investment or move. "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
