Guys this is what I get up in the morning for and I always say I wouldn't want to do anything else . This a project for a friends single engine 26 cat this engine on the dyno made 9 PSI of boost on pump gas and never set the det sensor off not even once. We changed the shape of the quench area in the combustion chamber when we ported them and this thing is a dream even how it idles at 900 RPM with 28 degrees of total timing . Tommy the owner had us install billet caps on a bowtie gm block he had us sonic test. Here are some pics for the gear heads.
there is the block with the plate being finished
HTTP://mesabalancing.com/misc/HPIM0339.AVI
and there is the finished product 736HP at 6500 RPM and 647 ft lbs at 4600 this one is for the small block guys hope you like.Sincerely Laz Mesa
P.S. Come see us at the boat show booth 4184

Thats beautiful, I have a 383 interenally balanced stroker sitting on a stand w/ edelbrock6071 angle plug heads, beautiful motor, supercharged w/ vortech should be over 650 hp tons of torque. love a stroker motor!!! Runs on pump gas very easy idle!!

Kinda looks like a car motor with the short snout and just one v belt for the water pump.

I would guess it is a bravo boat ? what about the alternator, power steering and water pump?

Laz give us motor heads some more info.Like what heads ,cam type, carb size,,Did ya try anymore timing,How low did ya pull it down to.

Laz your teasing us :drink: :drink:

The damn blower is as big as the block!!!
Looks like a 6-71? Why so big on a 383?

I'll say one this, it sure is impressive looking.

Strip the heads are Brodix -11s and it actually is a two groove pulley but we didn't have the alternator or bracket back from the cnc shop were running the new MSD billet alt. I pulled it from 3000 to 5600 on the initial pull since I didn't know how the 750s were going to react its got a mechanical fuel pump and I didn't want to lean it out after I saw it was all good I turned it up to 6500 starting at 3000 again the cam is a custom from Cam Motion and its 275 272 @ .050 and .720 .690 lift solid roller. on a 112 lsa.

Laz,
Those are outstanding numbers! With that 1900 RPM spread from peak TQ/HP whatever boat that motor goes in is going to pull like a rocket. Look foreward to seeing you in Miami.

I did try more timing and the power fell off big time remember its on pump gas thats no crap. I'm trying to figure how to put the video in so you guys can see it and listen to it . It really sounds bad ass specially around 6500RPM

It's nice to see someone else running a decent size cam on a 112, making good power.

I like the New MSD alts. they look cool. If thats all the timing it needed pretty efficient combustion chamber :D. I am seeing a lot of people using the Cam Motion cam now . When we use to do the street car shoot outs alot of them where running there cams. The carbs a 4779 750?. Laz do ya think the hp series would of made much diff at that CI?Was 6500 peek hp?That would be a nice morot for my Chevelle street car, Pump gas :D

Laz You can host the video on this site for free http://rapidshare.de/en/main.html

rmbuilder your saying the bigger the spread on TQ and HP is better for a boat ???

Strip I would have prefered the hp series but Tommy had already purchased these and as far as the peak power Tommy came in this morning and told me to turn it 7200RPM and it made 749HP I don't want to turn it higher because it doesn't have an adequate pan for that.Sincerely Laz Mesa

Laz do you have a way to do a steady state pull to simulate a load like it being in the boat?

Buzz that thing atleast once to see peek. :drink: They sound good over 7000 on the dynoes!!Makes ya not want to stand beside it   Congrats on the motor that some good #'s . :D

We where at Oddy's shop once they where Dynoing a small block Ford to 8900rpm that will make ya crenge . I think it was the Stanton bros street car shoot out motor, They where just setting the fuel curves only that day.

Laz Rip on it :D

Just curious what lobe center you are running?

Bob, is this another one of those "Race Only" cams you were talking about?
