Mfgrs claims on weight?Scarab 33'?2000yr

I am just wondering how accurate and what standards, if any, the weights you see from mfg are. My friend has a 28 Sunsation that he believes weighs 4500#. I have seen on NADA that a 32 Fountain is 7400 and a 33AVS Scarab is 8400#. I realize diff makers have diff priorities but can't see 1000 more on the Scarab. Anybody know the true weight of a 2000 Scarab AVS with Twin 502s? And more importantly, how fast?

first, the fountain is like a 29 foot boat wiht a beak and a swim platform, and is built waay smaller lighter then a scarab, second the fountain may come with small blocks

hit a truck stop with cat scales.... hit it with just truck and trailer and then go back with boat and just subtract the diff.... plus you feel cool hanging out with the truckers.... :D :evilb: :D
