Parts Needed

I am looking for 4 of the rubber bushings that attach the bravo flywheel housing to the inner transom plate. Anyone have them laying around or know a good source. mercruiserparts.com states they are no longer available.

Two 454 Flywheels(assuming an automotive flywheel will not work)

Also looking for two metal dust covers for the flywheel housing.

Thanks

Just bought two sets at the corner Merc dealer. They are taller than the old ones but otherwase the same. May have a new part number.

Do you need an entire bellhousing? I have an extra brand new one I'd sell.

PM me if so.

There is a replacment kit, elimimates the use of the old spring washers, you need 1 kit per engine. Part number is 865329A02, we sell them online for $29.53 per kit (and have them on the shelf).

MBam what is the purpose of the spring and fiber washer??????????

This new kit sounds like something to upgrade to.

1 Attachment(s)
The spring gave the rear of the engine some "give", but usually wound up collapsed anyhow. The new mount (used on all the new engines) is taller and eliminates the spring washer.

So that bushing replaces the other one totally. Do ya have to press out the old one out ? I guess the cone goes on top of the bushing then the fiber washer? the washer looks to small for the bolt, may the the angle of the pick.

I figure the spring washer goes flat after your torque the bolt anyway. and they wanted some movement  there with the engine alignment ?

Thanks

Also looks like the new kit does not need the spacer part #23-99299 for the bolts.

Thanks Marc

Re: Parts Needed

The fiber washer goes between the inner plate and the flywheel housing. The only purpose I can figure is to prevent metal to metal contact, possibly with enough engine torque, or the bushing slips out of postion, or fails.

Marc, I see they have eliminated the spring but does the small stainless washer go in its place?
