It's hard to say if anything would be missing; is this a complete package from Merc? The wiring harness on the 500EFI should plug into the boat harness, the fuel lines should work and the air filter should not present an issue. The key if buying take-outs is defining "complete". Good luck.

MildThunder, you are doing the swap for only 55 more HP? Why not go for a few more ponies? Your boat will eat it up!

I guess you cant go wrong with the 500HP, it tried and tested. Great motor. What ya gonna do with the 502?

Mild Thunder. By the way, I gotta change my name on here, you were the original, so I guess Ill give it up.

hi joe
the efi mag only makes 393 or less .the 500 makes 500 + if you look at the dyno info
on a 502 Tow it only shows 338 HP with the same cam as a 502 mag? when I run my top speed numbers and weight they show no way near 415 at the crank see the links below
shows the same. its more like 107 + difference. 500efi vs 502 mag efi
Im only shooting for mid upper 60's and Reliable power.resell's better with stock power.
engine is a complete 500efi dyno time only.

sorry joe missed your question

I plan on keeping it ...its has 275 hour on it so it still has some life in it. I like to put a whipple on it.. but dont have the 91+ octane at the lake which kills me on hi compression mods. to the engine
