Re: blue print hull and dial motors

When we talk about dialing in a boat we refer to maximizing the efficiency of the boat and setting the boat up for a particular type of boating.

For example; We can set a boat up for top speed running in smooth water, say it goes 80 mph. When that same boat with the smooth water set-up is run in a poker run and there are 4-6 foot seas the boat may only be able to run 60 mph. If we set the boat up for rough water it may be able to run 70 mph in the rough stuff but in smooth water only go 76 mph.

Set up is done through drive height, weight distribution, propeller selection and tuning, engine placement, a particular fuel load, trim tab location, extension boxes, drive gear ratio, hull work and anything else you can possible imagine. It is very time intensive but depending on your desire and use of the boat can yield significant gains in handling and performance of the boat.
