throttle levers a little off....
95 Fountain 32 fever , 502 mags , port throttle needs to be about one click ahead of starboard to keep same rpm , is this common ?

Re: throttle levers a little off....
Ive had my boat since new 42 fountain, and have the same situation i have over the years adjust to cables and played with different setting etc and i have come to the conclusion it is not in the shifters or cables but the difference in motors, I'm only about 1/2 a stick off and i guess i have grown old with the problem as it doesn't bother me any more.

Re: throttle levers a little off....
I've found ignition timing as well as cable adjustment can make a small amount of difference in the sticks

Re: throttle levers a little off....
I was gonna even the handles up and then check rpm at wide open , but still a little chilly here . thanks for the help.

Re: throttle levers a little off....
alot of fine tuning helps dramatically with this prob. obviously spec the engines than check cable attachment at the throttles. adjust cables only after both engines have been timed and fine adjusted at idle. normally this will get you on the money. good luck

Re: throttle levers a little off....
It would be nice if the throttle mfgrs made a micro adjustment or spaced the "clicks" closer. The problem always seems to be at cruise when you need to sync one throttle between the "clicks". Its a real hassle when running the ocean in snotty water as the throttle will fall back into a notch and they go out of sync.

Mine are that way too. I'm putting in some new sticks, maybe I'll adjust it then.
