" Dennis Moore" type book for 4.3???
 

I just got Dennis moore's SBC book . Great Info.

Is there another book out there with similar info for the 4.3 v6?? I know some of the info for the 5.7 would cross over but, I would like to find a book that goes into similar detail that Dennis has done on v8s. Any suggestions??????

As you said, the 5.7 book is basically a crossover.
If yuo find a 4.3 book, it will surprise me.

Would a camshaft grind that works for a 5.7 also apply to a 4.3?

The nice thing about Dennis Moore's book is that he tells you the casting numbers, years that modifications were made and what works with what. He almost makes things idiot proof.

Not knowing what set up would cross over to the v6 what wouldn't is issue. I would guess that the v6 changes were not always the same year as the 5.7. At least it wasn't the same with GM trucks. Things that make you go..........HHHMMMM. :rolleyes:

More or less.
Assuming you are running similar head ports, valve sizes, intake runner diamter and length, and plenum size, they should perform remarkably similar with a given cam lobe. Just one motor will give a touch less than 75% of the output of the other one...

You start with a 400hp combination of parts for a 5.7?
That oughta give you a 300hp 4.3, assuming similar other pieces...

I'm not sure what the stock valve sizes and head ports are on a 4.3 though. That will make a big difference,.

My guess is it would be easier and cheaper to swap the small block V8 in place of the V6. Performance parts for the V6 will be expensive. Look for someone wanting to swap a small block for a big block and buy his take out. It will perform better, sound better and likely be cheaper for the same performance gain.
