how do you identify a marine carb over automotive
have a holey 850 cfm,from numbers found on it i believe model#4781-5 .........1226 also stamped on.

Holley publishes that information on their website. Very simply though, a marine carb is going to have "j" style vent tubes.

The easiest way to tell a marine holley versus an automotive holley is that the marine version vent tubes are j-shaped so that if a float sticks the excess fuel is dumped back into the carb and the automotive version are angle cut straight tubes.

A 4781 carburetor is an automotive carburetor.
