yet another paint question

I have some home exercise equipment that has what I would call a "wrinkle finish" powder coating. It is flat black.

I would like to use the same stuff on some bilge steps and other things that get stepped on,

Any Idea what it is that was used on the exercize diamond plate?

Re: yet another paint question

Each powder shop stocks different colors and textures - The fastest and lowest cost way to get this project done is to go by and visit your local powder shops to see what colors/ textures they have as stock items. Many powder supplier have wrinkle finishes - the manufacturer is not as important as your local vendor/applicator -

If you powder shop has to oreder material the cost for the powder will range from $ 100 - 350.00 over and above the cost of the application service. The powder used on gym equipment can be either epoxy powder or polyester powder - both will work well - but never put epoxy powder in direct sunlight - it will oxidize very quickly -

I rebuilt a Harley years ago. The local shop had spray cans of flat black crinkle for the engine. Not sure about other colors.

Thanks, I think you need to oversee your own "paint" forum. :D:D

You answered my question: Is the crinkle finish a powder coat?

Wrinkle paint can be conventional wet paint or powder coat - It is not worht the trouble to find out. Because of VOC emmision regulation most applicators will use powder coat for regulatory reasons -

Just rememeber simple paints come in simple cans and will offer minimal performance - small parts under the hatch will ost likely survive fine with anything pretty -

Is this what you are looking for. It comes in several colors. I powder coated the house lights and a few other things with the bronze color last week. If you want a quote email me a picture of the parts and I will give you a price.
