Props / RPM / WOT / Slip #s - Throttle-Up, Help !!!

Julie, and anybody else sharper than I please chime in. The more I searched the more confused I get. Here is my situation:

05 35 Lightning / 500 EFI's / Bravo 30's / inward rotation / 1.5 XR's
Slip calc (if done right):
WOT is 5000 rpm X 30P=150,000 / 1584 = 94.7 x .89=84.3
I am getting 84 on gps with 8.9% slip. (sorry meant 8.9)

I cannot get any more rpm no matter trim/tab combo. I am fine out of the hole (I baby the drives) but would like 200 more rpm and better midrange.

Should I jump to diff pitch or look at having Throttle rework Bravo's

.89 is impossible,, I put your numbers into this calculator.. http://www.boatramp.com/prop_applet/...erAppletG.html and got 11.29 % which if correct is pretty decent.

You could easily have the props thinned for the extra 200 rpm's... just tell them you want more mid range performance.

If you want to stick w/ bravo's,,, 28's would be your only choice and that would raise the rpm's approx. 400.. don't exactly quote me on that number Julie or Matt could better answer that..

Thanks Chris, I edited post, I meant 8.9. I definitely want some more top end rpm but don't want to be banging the limiters.

I read allot about balancing these wheels which I want to do but if going in for balancing I didn't know if some additional work would get desired results.

If you don't want them thinned,,,, you could have them dropped a half inch or so in pitch for approx. 150 rpm's.. Best is to decide what you want and then contact T.U. and work from there.. good luck..

Summer heat.
To gain some rpm, about 150 the cup can be lightened if your Bravo's are stock. This would be the easiest and most cost effective way to increase the rpm and at the same time possibly pick up a little top end speed. As long as you can live with a little less cruise speed this would be a good option for you. Of course the props can be balanced and checked at the same time. If you have any other questions give us a call.
