Exhaust tail pipe question

I have a question about what to use to route my exhaust from my risers to my transom tips. I have an unusual situation in that my tails are about 18 inches from the tips..........but they are about 3 in. down and in! Can I use corregated rubber hose to do this or do I need to have "S" pipes made. I checked in to the high quality silicone stuff, unbelieveably expensive, 921 bucks for 12 ft. Overtons has 6 ft. lengths of the cheaper stuff 130 bucks. Anyone have any experience with this type of situation. How would you do it?

I did the same thing on a 18 ft checkmate that I had, make the S pipes. It will look better, the corrugated hose will look like something that was thrown together. All you need to do is get the demensions for your exhaust holes and have them welded up.

Don't try to run hose if you have to bend it any amount. What can happen is that there may be spots that the cooling water won't hit and the hose can then burn through. If it were to happen and you don't catch it you could fill your engine compartment with water or even possibly start a fire.

Build the S-pipes out of 316L stainless steel and you won't have any problems.

Give us a call, we can custom build the pipe you need from your measurements.

Thanks for the replies, I will do it right. I'll give you guys a call once the motors are in the boat and I can mock up to measure.
