stainless mesh element VS Air filter element
I am looking into flame arrestors. Flame arrestor is 17.5" x 10" x 3"
What would flow more a stainless mesh element or a air filter element, you can by the arrestor both ways. travis :evilb: :evilb: p.s, why don't one of you SOB's give up one of those alpha SS drives :D :D :drink: |

On the stainless mesh I know the take out all the layers and only run one layer. On my Scarab blower motor 2 8x5 Gaffrig killed the motor 25 hp on the Dyno  :(
On my Chevelle the 14x5 K&N element with this air cleaner made about 9 hp on a 355 street motor on the Dyno. The base is where the power is.Look how the top is made. Rob |
Re: stainless mesh element VS Air filter element
I see.. I run a 3" x 9" k &N on my boat motor, thought about putting a huge arrestor on, and debating wire mesh or air filter, I will probably end up using the air filter version.
thanks for the info bro :drink: |
Re: stainless mesh element VS Air filter element
I have been always told the larger diameter will flow better that a tall one .I think Nascar used a 16 x3 at one time.
Most of the marine stuff i have seen is tall . i guess because on blowers the have to mount 2 side byside .Holley makes a 10 inch marine one also, with a K&N element with a coast gue=ard sticker |
