What props for a heavy 28' V-bottom

I want to loosen it up a little and was thinking of adding set back and putting on chopers, I dont know if they should be big ear or small ear.
Oh yeah motors are 225 yamahas with 22" michigan wheels ( I would say their simialar to the mercury mirage).

If anyone has any advice please chime in. Thanks

Re: What props for a heavy 28' V-bottom

What kind of boat?
What do you use the boat for, offshore fishing, cruising, watersports, just going fast?
Are your motors OX66 Yamaha's?
Are the motors set back now, bracket, platform, etc?
How do your current props work, planning, cruise, top end?

The choppers would not be your choice for rough water or for getting on plane quick, they are a top end/wide open throttle kind of prop.

Re: What props for a heavy 28' V-bottom

The boat is a 28' Pantera. I really like the boat it handles good and has a good ride. I use the boat for recreation and carrying my cooler. Most of the time i am on the Missouri River, but I go down to LOTA occasionaly. Motors are 225 yamahas, approx 18" of set back, 22" michigan wheels. It pulls hard out of the hole, faster than most boats half the size, accelerates good but tops out in the low 60s. I plan to change the rigging and do some mods to the motors: 24" to 30" of set back, 265 to 270 hp, and better props. I think by adding set back and finding a prop with good bow lifting properties I can loosen up the hull for some better numbers, the extra horsepower wont hurt either. Does it sound like im in the park. I have read a lot from this web site and screamand fly but actual practice is limited to what I have done to this boat. I really appreciate the feedback.
