Alpha 1 Prop Selection (Need Help)

Hello everyone,

I have a friend who has a 21 ft donzi minx with an alpha 1 hooked up to a 350 making around 360hp.

We are trying to come up with different prop combinations.
He has run a mirage, mirage+, 3blade quicksilver cleaver and a
a stiletto.

My question is, are there any other prop designs that would give alot of bow lift. I was thinking of 3 blade chopper, but I wasn't sure how it would work on a alpha case. What about a four blade design.

Any help from the guru's on this site would be a great help.

Bow lift = Bravo 1 props but first call Julie or Matt at Throttle Up 877-842-6855 and they will work with you. They dialed me in with a bravo 1 and now I'm upping my HP and may be changing gear ratio in the alpha. Good luck.

Give us some details about the set-up and we will try to get you dialed in.

What power?
What Drive and gear ratio?
With each prop what is the WOT RPM and MPH (gps)?

Tell me a little about the attitude of the boat with each of the props you listed.

Re: Alpha 1 Prop Selection (Need Help)

Brian73,
I had a 454/alpha 1 86 nova 23. Engine mods were slight: cmi headers, edelbrock, holly 810 shotgun silencers, with mild crane cam slight cylinder head clean up-5.2k rpm range. Had all the following props in the garage Quicksilver Lazer; cleaver; mirage and hydromotive all 3 blade reworked 21's. I believe the drive had a 1:36 ratio (original for 86-87 year).
Best of the bunch for my application was the lazer for top end very poor off the line w/ much cavitation upon standing start and tight turns, overall I used the hydromotive for all activities, but the lazer kept the nose up and loved the mid-range to top end punch. Just my .02. - Good luck
