There was a post here regarding painting of outdrives. It stated Dollar Marine uses Nason blue. I went to a dupont dealer and they never heard of a product called nason blue. Can anyone clarify this or give a suggestion for drive and tab painting? Paint, technique?

Re: drive paint clarification
I realize that but the post I read specified nason blue as a type of paint (not a color) and the dealer never heard of it. He did say however there are different types of nason.

Re: drive paint clarification
nason blue label is a factory pacakaged color. it is a straight
enamel which requires a synthetic hardner which is the cheapest paint in the nason line. just called the jobber to confirm.

So it's actually a color, blue?

Re: drive paint clarification
no blue label refers to the color of the label on the can. its primarily light blue in color. its the bottom of duponts paint line up. its an enamel a dupont auto paint jobber will have it. its cheap but holds up well on drives. it comes in a # of factory package colors. you will need color, hardener, and reducer.
