how will these manifolds flow?

how do you guys think these manifolds/risers will flow? They are supposedly "high performance". What is the upside and is there any downside. Previously I was running OEM volvo penta manifolds / risers. One of the main reasons I am considering these is that they are stainless.
Thanks,
`Dave

Re: how will these manifolds flow?

I dont know who they are manufactured by. The guy that has them seems to think that they are high performance but the look like the old log style to me. Would I be better off with these stainless ones or should i just replace them with new volvo penta OEM product. I was thinking that the one peice design might save me some manintenence in the future.

In addition where can i find some good stainless steel mainifolds/risers in the US? I was given the name of an Aussie but the shipping on those will probably be a fortune.

How can i get in contact with these jcperf or mash/sean h guys?

I have no idea about those you have pictured there but it looks to me that there could be a problem if you were docked and a nice set of waves came by and backflowed into the exhaust tubes and down to the cylinders! I dont see anywhere that could have a "water damn" type of plate that could potentialy keep the water at bay if it was to get inside..... Im sure a set of flappers on the exhaust tips would do wonders.

If you flipped them over they would help out with water reversion.

I wouldn't touch them. You really want something with equal or nearly equal length runners for any performance gains. As for them being stainless, who cares, they are useless in my opinion.

Check into Revolution Marine, Gill, Eddie Marine, or IMCO if you want some decent manifolds at decent prices in the USA.

Actually, I'd call Fred at Trick Marine. He'll have what you need. He's an advertisor here on OSO. Look for his banner.

Re: how will these manifolds flow?

The corsa exhaust on the boat already has flappers on the exhaust tips. Should i stil avoid these manifolds? What is a reasonable price to pay for new manifolds / risers .... both stainless and otherwise.
I do not have unlimited funds for this system. Im a 20 year old student with a need for speed and a blown motor. Im repowering and trying to do it right but, within my budget.

I dont need exceptionally high performance manifolds/risers .... just something that will last and perform decently. Im hoping my boat will run about 70 with the repower which is fast enough for me.

The new motor is a 351W ford - up from a 302

Re: how will these manifolds flow?

Ask Brownie who built those. They look like 1980's Stainless Marine which were notorious for developing cracks.

should i just stick with stock manifolds / risers? would I be safer?

I'd stay stock before I would buy them. They look almost home made(with no idea as to what to do) :(
