Here's a sketch of the doo-dad. The intent is not so much to provide cooling water to run the boat for long periods of time on the hose, but to provide water to the impeller to keep it from burning up.

I really only need to be able to start the engines before I go to the lake to make sure all is well before I hit the boat ramp.

There are a "few" manatee zones over here--but lots of open water too. Just have to stay way from Port Canaveral really.

We have 1.25" OD 304 bends available if you can't find any locally.
Wall thickness is .049" (18 guage). Mandrel bent at whatever dregree you require. Starting with a 12" long pc before bending - 20.00 each.

Now that I look at your drawing a little closer you aren't after a bent piece, but rather a staight piece. We can do that too. 8.00/ft

Thanks Graham, I can get 304 locally for about $6.00 a foot. And all I really need is a coupla feet. One foot to screw up and the other foot to get it right...

Cool. The shipping would cost more than the material.

I think the grab rails for handicap toilets is 1.25 OD. They are Stainless steel and you can maybe use the bent portion if you desire a slight elbow. I would braze in the 1/2 feed line at an angle. Silver brazing with silfos requires minor fit-up, but can be done with a file and patience. Call Johnstone Supply just south of Ben White Blvd.

I used copper sweat fittings to make nice elbows for my strainer. Any good plumbing or refrigeration supply house.

I know how fanatical you are about these things, but even copper will outlive both of us in fresh water.

I'm sure you're right Jim, I can TIG weld the SS easier than braze copper.
