speaker placement question

I have a 232 Baja and would like to put some subs in the boat. My question is, under both front seats the pedastals are all fiberglass with an inspection port on the front, these holes are big enough to hold an eight inch driver so can I place the subs there and still get good sound out of them or is there a better place to mount them?

You might give this a try. I just mounted one in the cabin of my 23 foot Checkmate and it sounds great. Stays dry in the cabin.

Sounds like it would work fine. Lows are forgiving.
Highs... not so much.

Re: speaker placement question

I assume that the pedastals are strong as they are holding your seat in place. It is done all the time and works well. I would suggest opening the hole up a little more and putting a larger speaker in there. If you can get them to fire at one another it will amplify a little bit more for you.

Hope that helps
Jon
