Swapping drives, LH-RH

when I change my drives from spinning outward to inward (TRS) I just have to switch them. My drives are directional so the props stay with that drive. right?

Also when it is discussed people talk about losing dockability, is that more apparent w/ staggerd engines than side by side. also is it worth trying with side by side engines.

one drive is already off and it only took 20 minutes by myself. thought I might just try it.

if you just want to "try it" , cant you just switch the props and run the drives in reverse like bravos?

Nope. Reverse of the trans is not strong enough. If you try it you'll be rebuilding 2 trans.

You are either
A) a large man.
B) A large man with good tools like a drive stand/jack.
C) A large, lucky man with a drive stand/jack.

Mine never go that fast. Dammit. :D

It was off a year and a half ago when the tranny needed replacing. It wasn't that heavy until I had to load it in the truck by myself.

NO stand or jack, 6 bolts, 1 hose, steering stabalizer, and 1 tie bar. 1 IMPACT IR 244

NO! you WILL fry the trans trying to get up on plane! been there done that when i had a "friend" install the props on wrong and i didnt catch it......throught i had the cables on the shifters placed wrong......2 trannies later i leardned my lesson not to let other do things i should do myself!!! :(

Yes you can switch the drives and yes keep the props with each drive when you swap.

Taking the TRS's off is the easy part...now comes the fun part of trying to get the drive shaft into the trans the right way and fully seat the drive against the housing! :D

Thanks Wally,
I knew it seemed to easy, that is like when I pulled the lower off of my alpha and didn't know it needed to be in forward, to get back together.

:D :D hay thats a cool picthure, i can make one from cheep hyd jack :drink: :drink: i think a ? was about side buy side,or staggerd  rember the blade that swings down has more thrust than the up swing, ok so if your props rotate out leverage is in creased docking is easer  trade off,, steped hulls dont like it much  staggerd set up does 2 things moves center of gravity forword :D and drives can be mounted closer ,,? whydo that ti keps the center lin of thrst close in . takes high speed turns beter, picth and yaw  ,, iam tired of typing know see yaa :bunny:
