Re: GLSCS Ballots

Below is the letter posted on the GLSCS web-site in regards to the ballot and the results. As of today we have had many views of the results but no replies or confirmation that anyone intending to participate in 2005 GLSCS events. I have posted on the GLSCS web-site that if we do not receive confirmation of at least 20 boats participating in GLSCS events for 2005 we will not put on any events this season. We will table everything until 2006. The GLSCS was organized to give the racers a chance to make things better for themselves. They again were given the opportunity to make their choice. Without racers their is no reason to go through the hard work our volunteers go through to put on events.

Dear Equipment Owners,

The results of the ballots are in….
31 of 51 ballots were returned.
The results are as follows:

OSS/GLSCS = 19 (61.29% of total votes received)
APBA/SBI = 8 (25.81%)
No Opinion = 2 (12.9%)
Total = 31 votes received

The majority of owners and riding crew voted to work with OSS as a nationally sanctioned group for 2005. This being said, boat and crew registration will stay the same as in 2004.
Associate Membership $50.00
Riding Crew $150.00
Boat registration $600.00
As you know, these funds go to fund our race sites. Therefore, time is of the essence. We are asking that you send in your registration fees by April 15th, 2005. We are only two months away from the first race of the year and need to quickly move forward to make this season happen. Enclosed are your membership forms. We are working a deal similar to 2004 between the OPA, OSS and GLSCS for memberships, creating reciprocity between the groups.

We are currently also in negotiation with OPA to work jointly on a couple events to help bring our divisional racing groups together for a couple key events to help increase boat count and promote some competition with the racers on the east-coast. We will structure our rules accordingly as to keep parity within the groups.

Date GLSCS OPA OSS

June 10-12 Cape Cod
June 24-26 Grand Haven
July 8-10 Mentor
July 15-17 Atlantic City
July 29-31 St.Clair St. Clair
Aug. 10-12 Pt. Pleasant
Sept. 2-4 Louisville, KY
Sept. 23-25 Cambridge, MD
Oct. 7-9 Camden, NJ

Re: GLSCS Ballots

The OPA/GLSCS should be a great working relationship;what about a complete meger to form a single professional organization for the purpose of promoting divisional racing in the Northeast and Central divisions?More boats, enthusiastic racers, excited fans and satisfied sponsors is what it is all about.

Re: GLSCS Ballots

That was the intent of the joint venues for OPA/GLSCS. Give the divisional guys a home. Now we need the boats. OPA is well on its way. THe GLSCS racers seem to be dragging their feet. We'll see how things pan out here in the next week.

Re: GLSCS Ballots

is this scheduale a wish list ?? or set in stone??

as we plan for time to watch races (not a promotor anymore) trying to figure scheduals out

The Grand Haven Race date is on the same weekend as the final party for MOPRA/LESCORA party 200 miles away

there are no permits applied for in GH for a race so i am thinking that the scheduale is a wish list

Is this true ?? are any of the dates on the scheduale in stone ??
we want to plan to attend a few races this year To make plans we need to know what is real and what is just desire

any insite would be appreciated
