Re: Merrcury incentive money
I thought it was pretty interesting that the Mercury trailer left the pits at the Panama City race. Granted I heard this second hand, but I heard they didn't want to pay for the vendor space they were occupying. It didn't seem right to me that Mercury didn't support the race in the town where their new racing test facility resides.
Just a perspective from a new racer. Sean |

Sean I am surprised they were there at all. Afterall, it was a Divisional Race. According to the contract above, they only plan on having the support truck at the National Series Races and the Worlds... With a fleet of 9 boats, they certainly weren't going to be selling enough to cover the concession fee.... |
Re: Merrcury incentive money
Cory,
I think you just have to call Merc and tell them what you need to they will send you a box of Money. Just let them know if you want a small, med, or large box. |
Re: Merrcury incentive money
Cory, Just another reason to race with OSS! Come on we all want you in SVL.

Re: Merrcury incentive money
Sharkey,
Actually, I was impressed to see the Mercury trailer in the pits when we arrived. However, in reality, it probably would've been better if they weren't there at all and we didn't have to see them drive off Friday evening. I still couldn't help but feel they felt this race (or us Divisional racers) weren't important enough (or a big enough money maker) for them to stick around. Regardless of what they did, for what I'm sure they believe are valid reasons, they left an impression in my mind. This was my first race as a boat owner equipped with a Mercury product...when they drove off, they left me with my first impression of Mercury Racing support...and you know what they say about first impressions. Again, only my perspective. Sean |
Re: Merrcury incentive money
