Great Gino, I can't wait to see the boat. On the downside, looks like you have to be good this year

Re: Our first Press Release with the U.S. Coast Guard
Hey Scott...
This year....and at least the next few years...Lots of do's and don't...well... just a lot of don't...At least I still have this years Ft. Lauderdale race to remember getting a little...well...you know.... |

Great news gino!!! good luck Tom
|
Re: Our first Press Release with the U.S. Coast Guard
Cool Gino, will the boat be white with an orange diagonal stripe on the bow? I sure hope so.
|

Great job Gino. Congrats to you and the crew!

Re: Our first Press Release with the U.S. Coast Guard
Thanks Augie and Tom...
Ron...That was the first paint scheme we put together...but there legal dept. made a good point, that the race boat looked just like there Cuters...and for to many legal reasons we could not do that. They said "we could see it now, your out testing and boats would be pulling over thinking you were chasing them down..What they decided on was our race team to have the YIC idenity and something new. Being we are campaigning there You're In Command program. We will be doing the scheme of the YIC logo to get out to the public and make more of a awareness of the whole program...The uniforms will be somewhat like Justin Labontie's. Because of time....we are making it some what simple for this year...The C.G. is already working on next years full paint scheme.... |
Re: Our first Press Release with the U.S. Coast Guard
Gino,
Look forward to meeting you and seeing the boat. Our team is supporting the North American Safe Boating Campaign on a volunteer basis and we know the USCG provided the grants to support that campaign. We plan on having our usual tent set-up with our phamphlets and brochures in Sarasota as well as PFD demostrations for children (we usually conduct the demo when we sign autographs for the kids). It's great to see the USCG personally involved with offshore racing....Good Job! Sean |
Re: Our first Press Release with the U.S. Coast Guard
Way cool! That's great guys, nice to see this kind of involvement.

Re: Our first Press Release with the U.S. Coast Guard
Hey Sean,
Great to hear.....I'll drop by and say hi.... For all boaters....we are also working on a program with insurance company's and Boat U.S. for a discount on insurance just for passing a boating saftey course that you can take on-line or with the Auxillary or Power Squadron. They currently have a few insurance companys that are involved for the discount but we will be working to included many more...so if your have a 16 foot Bayliner to a 39 Dragon( quick plug) you will be able to recieve it....some of you may already using these insurance companys now. I will be listing all the current insurance companys that are involved and the new ones we are working with on the new website which will be up next week. You will also be able to e-mail us your insurance company to see if we could get them on board. The way boating insurance is going up every little bit counts...not to mention you may just learn something new that may save your own or someone elses life...we will also be giving out new life jackets and gifts for people who bring there certificate for passing the course at our races...along with a number of other programs we have planned for the race sites..... Also we are working with a major Corp. for the Super-Vee's on a little something which will be great for the fans and there sponsors that can't make it to the races.... |

Gino is the boat gonna make Sarasota?
|
Re: Our first Press Release with the U.S. Coast Guard
Hey Ryan,
We were thinking we would make it....but it looks like we won't...making some changes now so we don't have to later...the C.G. Press Release was done over 3 weeks ago and was just put out....We were hoping even if the boat wasn't ready to race we would still bring it and put it on display....but will see....we might just concentrate on getting her ready and then to Lake X and spend a few weeks there doing nothing but testing.....We will be in Grand Haven, MI for the Grand Haven Coast Guard Festivel at the end of July for 3 days and then shot over to St. Clair for the race and then to Reggiville...Once the boats done we won't have a lot of time to make changes..so we have to make sure its all done right now....As long as the C.G. is happy were happy....and they have told us when it comes to safety to take as much time as we needed..... See ya soon |
Re: Our first Press Release with the U.S. Coast Guard
Congrats, sounds like a great program you have going. Craig, that is great news, so you are back in the race again!
Can't wait to see the Dragon out on the race course. Are you really going to test in Kissimee?I thought that Lake X was closed? JM94 :D |
Re: Our first Press Release with the U.S. Coast Guard
JM94,
Sorry, I still call it Lake X....I beleive its called X-Site now... Tell Tres I'm sure will have the boat at his shop to...we know he can get us a few MPH from his experties... Gino |
Re: Our first Press Release with the U.S. Coast Guard
Gino,
I guess it was wishfull thinking :p , Lake X was great. I still have not seen X Site. Perhaps you can make a stop by our shop on the way up to the X Site since our shop will be in Ocala by then. 5,000 square feet air conditioned (super for us), several lakes around us for testing. Bring it on! We'll dial that baby in. JM94 :D |
Re: Our first Press Release with the U.S. Coast Guard
JM94,
I'm sure we will set something up to stop by your shop and have Tres spend a day with her before heading to Mercury... Good luck on the new shop....look foward to seeing it... |
Re: Our first Press Release with the U.S. Coast Guard
Wow, look forward to seeing the boat in St. Clair! If you ever need a job in public relations, don't hesitate to call. Nice Job!
|
Re: Our first Press Release with the U.S. Coast Guard
oui,
Man, we havn't hung out since the Worlds in Orange Beach in 2003....long time.....See you in St. Clair.... |
Re: Our first Press Release with the U.S. Coast Guard
Yeah man, way too long! I'm trying to arrange some large Plazma Screens on-site in strategic locations that I'll be working with the BWORA on depending on broadcasting rights etc,. live coverage of the race on our Digital network, for we need additional content in between races and on Saturday during testing, some being community based in scope, perhaps the "You're in Command" would be a perfect fit being the majority of the crowd are in the boating community and could learn from your spots. I'm sure the Coast Guard has some kind of video or advertisement that can be formatted to a file for transmission.

Re: Our first Press Release with the U.S. Coast Guard
Hummm, St Clair,,,,,I do need a focal point for the EBM story............
|
Re: Our first Press Release with the U.S. Coast Guard
oui,
I will see if they would like to do anything....We are not scheduling anything in St.Clair with the C.G. Our main reason for being in MI is for the Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival. And they are planning a big event in Raggieville... I will talked to them and let you know.....thanks for the offer.... Gino |
