its p class not factory class, if stanch wants to run p2 and get use to the boat then its ok did he brake out no he was the winner, if he would have broke out he would have been moved to p1, and for the cat he didnt brake out either, its all about the speed limit for p4 through p1 if you brake out you loose, p5 is different with the lenth, that should be the only p class to talk about placing boats in.

From what Smitty told us about the engines they are the stock 240 HP engines, that's all I can tell you. Bret and crew beat us by 3 seconds, that's the heart breaker, nothing else.

Brett and Darrins AMT cat has STOCK 2.5 XS Optimax motors on it. It will never go 100 MPH. Right now the motors are level with the bottom of the boat. The race boat run 1.5" above the bottom. They were also running 28" props (very slow). This boat has 20" motors now but was rigged for 15" so you can't get the motors high enough. Also it has a pleasure interior with the back seat. Once it is dialed in it will be in P3.

Ryan, it was a great exciting race. They whopped us fair and square. We're gonna start calling Bret's boat The Jr. Flying Condo with his back seats and coolers.

As it is stated in the SBI / APBA rule book Manufacture Production Series Page 79 reads as follows,
A boat that competes in the Manufacture Classes will be assigneda class by SBIP / APBA Offshore based on the top speed of that boat in perfect water conditions by an SBIP / APBA Offshore inspector.If a manufacture Class boat is found to be in the wrong classduring pre-race inspection,an SBIP / APBA inspector or the director of Manufacture Classeswill move the boat into the correct class.SBIP / APBA Offshore inspectors will use a mathematical formula to determine a boats top speed based on perfect water conditions. page 80 / It states / The idea in Manufacture Class racing is to race and get the most out of you and your boat.Manufacture Class in not bracket racing. Manufacture Production Classes Manufacture Cass Catagories| P 5 60 -64.9 MPH / 28 Ft and underonly P4 65 -74.9 MPH P3 75 -84.9 MPH P2 85 -94.9 MPH P1 95 - 109.9 MPH Page 81 11.11 Quote / All classes ca race Manufacture Class except Superboat Unlimited/CAT OR VEE,Superboat,or Super Cat Page 81 11.15 Quote / The Manufacture Class that you will be racing in will be on your estimated speed of your boat.If you do not know what class you should be in,speak to the Chief Referee,or the Chief Inspector.SBIP / APBA will be using the following to determine your bracket,Pitch X rpm X .01 divided by gear ratio divided by 12. In my opinion I do not feel in any way,shape or form were these rules followed,do you. |

Yes there is rules and when people start to follow them then maybe there will be more people taking there boats off of the trailor,until then it is what it is.
Mike,I am glad to here you are doing well,and the new fishing package does not sound to bad either,lets hope that these people get the drift and get back to a rule book and add someone to enforce them,talk to you soon. |

You guys are too much. I dont hear any racers complaining. As for the Fountain Racing P2. Yes in its day, with Fountains best in the boat it ran 116. Stanch cannot afford new motors every race. Instead of spinning 7400 the are chipped at 6800 and running a 28 inch wheel. It runs 98 on the button. To me I would rather have a boat to chase, than run out by myself. The prop calc is inforced to all. Bill, come to Pt Pleasant, we use the same formula, I'll show you how close it is. We need help with tech would love to see you there. Smitty
