Chattanooga Special Event
 

I know it's still a ways off, but does anyone know what's going on with Chattanooga? Why is this considered a special event? Who is planning on attending?

Will be there...Pop has put in a lot of time putting this race together, I think its in his home town.... its been in the works for over a year...We all have race with Pop being there with his STARS guys and him being with APBA and now together with SBI. We all need to give a little back to him and his people and support this race. I know there was talk last year of there being a speed run based on the fasted lap times. I know they had a number of things planned. The C.G. asked 2 weeks ago if this is another good place for some big National PR, like the N.Y. and Key West races. I will talk to Pop in N.C this weekend and let you know what's planned...

Thanks. I was able to get in touch with Dave Thompson.

You're right...sounds like a HUGE event is being planned: speed runs, qualifiers, and lots of racing. We're hoping to get our "Little Yellow Cat" fixed up so they can use it as a static display to promote the race between now and then. Dave also said they've got a big media event planned for next Friday...so let the promotion begin!

The course is posted on the SBI/APBA web site. It looks like it'll be on Chickamauga Lake on the TN River.
