VIP package-Key West
 

I am still considering going to KW...

However, if the the VIP area is the same as last year it would no be a viable $$$ trade off with St Pete as far as fan viewing/photo ops.

Any info??

Last year after our F1 Race we watched at the end of the bleachers before the boats crossed the Finish line...we were no more then 20 yards from the boats..+ you got to see them comming out of turn 2 heading back in....thats were a bunch were stuffing....a lot of the teams and crews were watching from that area...it wasn't VIP but there was a Bud and liq. stand behind us and a food cart and Pota-poti's....

Kinda llike a dream....

Keep in mind some of the resturant's also have reserved seating for a small fee $$$, but it does put you right on the action.

I sent an e-mail to OSS and asked how far from the pier (St Pete) will the boats be allowed to come. If like last year I'll be at KW.....

I truly enjoyed meeting some of the Poker Run people at the Hyatt.. I already have reservations for next year.. :cool:

The outer mole has plenty of veiwing with the boats as close as 20 feet away. Dave

As you can see by my photo that block of cement blocks the view of all boats approaching the MOLE..

I do agree that it is thrilling to see/hear them when 20 feet directly in front of you...then they are gone.

Since you can't see them coming and follow them past yu, from a spectators view point it truly sucks.

Hell, even after paying the $$$$ for VIP seatin/viewing I spent most time about 100 yards to the left (facing the water)
on the bed of a pickup truck (thanks to a couple of strangers) ..yet when I scanned camera to the right the F$$$$ng cement thing blocked my view.

I think ALL those that paid $$$ for VIP viewing got the royal screwing last year and will agin this year if situated in the same area.

Just my humble, yet unbiased opinion.. :(

Don't get the VIP package and just watch the race from the outer mole,Mallory Square or from the second floor at the Pier House (if they have that this year).
