PX class in Cambridge Maryland
I didn't want ot hijack OSS's thread-BUT- The CBPBA and the OPA would also like to extend an invitation to all PX class boats. We have 4 confirmed at this time and we will be running the second race (PX, P1, P2) on a longer course that will allow the big boys to stretch their legs a little. There will also be a separate purse just for this class based on the number of registered PX boats. I have been coordinating all the events for the weekend and it is gonna be wild, a race not to be missed.
So if it floats and goes fast, bring it, we will find a class for you, just don't forget your party shoes :drink: :evilb: :drink: No sailboats please.... :D |
Re: PX class in Cambridge Maryland
Stone Cold What it the total race distance for the P2 race?
And how much fuel does a 42 tiger need to make it home? |
Re: PX class in Cambridge Maryland
Smitty should be able to answer question 1, I think about 50 miles.
Figuring that the yellow tail tiger swallow flaps it's wings at 200 beats per minute and consumes approximately 2 ounces of protien a day eacept when mating. And the North African dung beetle can roll 7 times it's own weight in excrement an hour, while maintaining an average speed of 1.2 cm/minute for stretches of 16 yards or 2 hours, whichever comes first. After tallying the previous specifications and adjusting for tide, wind, water conditions, and load, it seems that there is no reason to know how much fuel it takes to get a 42 Tiger home....Just fill the f*&@ing thing up before you leave    |

Re: PX class in Cambridge Maryland
Stone Cold Thank you, that is a very informative post. Now that I know the distance of the race. the wing beat of a swallow and it's fuel consumption, the weight of the dung beetle, I have all of the info I need not to determine the fuel requirements to complete the race in my cat   :chimp:
Now if I can determine the temperature of the water and the color of the pace boat I can figure what props not to use |

Now if I can determine the temperature of the water and the color of the pace boat I can figure what props not to use :D :D The pace boat will be white (somewhere) or maybe blue, with white. The water will be more than 28 degrees F and less than 100 degrees C. The longer course will include two dog leg straights that will be about 3 miles long. Most, but not all of the girls in the spectator fleet will have most of their teeth. The beer served at the Hyatt will be more expensive than the beer served at the 7-11, but will reach your bladder in almost exactly the same time. The Mud Puppy cat will not be there to race with you but there may be Mud Puppy wrestling  :evilb: There will be a pig roast and we may cook a goose, but please don't goose the cook. Hope this has been a help in your race planning :drink: |

Funny Tim. :) Just in case you guys want to know what Ted's been working on for the race weekend . . . . especially those who've never been to Cambridge yet, this link here will give you an idea why the CBPBA Cambridge Challenge is the hottest weekend on the circuit!! (A completely subjective opinion of the author)

Re: PX class in Cambridge Maryland
Ted,
I have just three questions. 1. Where will the smoothie machine be located on Saturday night? 2. If a racer scores a hole in one on the golf course, can they use seven bladed props during the race? 3. Will the kids get to roast squirrel with their smores at the Hyatt's outdoor fireplace on Saturday night. Nothing like a good squirrel roast. :evilb: Ron |
Re: PX class in Cambridge Maryland
Ive been to some mighty fine squirrel roast down here in Florida.Hows the Beaver taste up there?

Re: PX class in Cambridge Maryland
UsedParts, we're talking about Cambridge, on the sleepy eastern shore of the State of Maryland . . . . . there are plenty of squirrels, but it's BYOB (bring your own beaver).

|
Re: PX class in Cambridge Maryland
Canukistan has the meatiest beavers but they tend to be real furry
Now your west coast beaver tends to be better groomed but sometimes a little bony and needs to be tenderized  |
Re: PX class in Cambridge Maryland
I tell ya what, that imported beaver has to be washed real good.after two six packs it tasted great after i used the special sauce.
