you have a good canidate the 30 velocity is a fast hull ( rides a little hard) due to the rather flat pad hull ran mid 73-75 with 365's , the way they do p-class with the average speed ( which I don't like) I think it should be a set speed i.e. 80 on gps if you go over you break out but as they do an average easier to keep track of I suppose I would try to get the boat to approx 85 on flat water you will not be able to average over 80 unless they are very long straights ( super long) then if it is rougher prop down in big water ( gets back to speed faster if in and out alot)
POINT you are always running flatout just want to be at top of bracket not the bot -mid its about how fast you can get around the race course

We will be at several of the races for sure next year. Planning on St. Clare for sure as we have the date saved. Gonna do a few extra days on the lakes while there too. Madison is pretty close and if OSO goes to the Richmond deal that is even closer to home.

As far as racing goes, we'll have to see what the new boat runs.
We'll be there to watch and learn at the very least. We are very experienced at "Pit Partying", never been a very good spectator, but I am a good wrench if anyone needs any help. I also read where you always need Vol. boats too.
