To all Racers and Offshore supporters
There has been a ton of effort in the last year to grow the sport at a grass roots level with OPA. Through the tireless efforts of guys like Smitty,Augie, and Haggin, we are gaining momentum. Sharkey, Marty, Tony, Ted, the other ED etc. etc., and tons of other volunteers have gone above and beyond in their support and assistance. My point is this; All of this hard work, long hours, sacrifice etc. from a few people will pale in comparison to a little bit of work by a lot of people.
The Goal of OPA is to ultimately grow this sport to a level not yet seen in the sport of offshore racing. To accomplish this goal, numerous smaller goals must be attained first.
Provide a level playing field for racers to satisfy our craving for fair and exciting deck to deck racing
To provide a safe enjoyable top knotch racing venue
To provide fans with an exciting event to come out both on the course and in the pits
To make racing more affordable
To promote the sport in ways never thought of before
There are more, but these are the main ones.
OPA has made progress in each and every one of these goals, some more than others, but nevertheless, progress.
We need help and people to take the initiative and not wait to be asked. For example; if your a marketing guy, put together a presentation promoting the sport we can show potential sponsors and sites. If you have the internet, you ALL do, go do some research on our sites and send our press releases to local Chamber of Commerce, buisinesses, radio stations, and Local TV. If you live in or near a site, talk it up spend a day or two passing out flyers, creating excitement about the event. If you have connections, USE THEM.If you have a talent that can benefit (Computers, Video, Sounds, Big Mouth etc)USE IT. Always promote the sport in a positive manner.
With everyones help, this may just work.
That being said, anything you do, create, or plan on doing, run it by Smitty or Augie for their approval so we can be consistant in our approach and not duplicate our efforts.
That's it for now

Re: To all Racers and Offshore supporters
Here is an opportunity to advertise.
I jsut saw this for the first time on the Scream & Fly website...
===========================
Attention Central Florida Racers
B]May 5th St. Cloud Florida
Osceola Heritage Park (Silver Spurs Arena)
Boy Scouts of America hosting event to showcase racing of all aspects.
Looking for racers from all areas ( cars, motorcycles, boats, r/c, etc.) to showcase their rides. expecting 1500-2000 people for this event. If you want to showcase your ride contact Gordon Gray @ 407 301 8506 for further info. Would like to see some of the local drag racers and offshore guys show off their stuff (need more trim, spiderman, whm), if your available.
