Difference between World and National
Now that it looks like my two favorite race groups OSS and SBI/APBA will not be attending each others "Worlds" I am curious if someone can explain how your national race will be differnt from your world race.

a lot of racers have looked at this, but apparantly they can't explain the difference either, so it is no wonder us fans are confused :(

Re: Difference between World and National
no we are with you with separate worlds , they are just a repeat of nationals but they do have a multiple race format usually 2 races or in 2004 they had 2 half races and 1 full race makes it interesting but not as good if we were all racing together but if it can't be worked out so be it

Re: Difference between World and National
The National title is a accumulation of point for the year, and for your stands for the Hall of Champions.
Worlds is the start of a new Year and awarded to the team with the most points for the three days of racing. |

A true World Champioinship in any sport is where competitors come from around the world to compete. This is not the case in Offshore. Period. There was some headway being made a few years back to align Internatioinal rules. However it's my opinion, that lost steam as the boats are split up into two distinctly different race groups. |

It's a way to to collect money for the winter months, because the worlds are the first race of the following season.
