He was a fierce competitor above everything else.
This is a photo of him winning a boat race after he retired. This is the only boat race he ever won drivng a Cigarette. All the other races were in Donzi's. Formula's, Magnum's and Cary's. |

But remember, that he loved being the underdog....most of his career was in small boats that were underpowered compared to the competition.
