Just do like 25k an entry and forget about the rest!

Re: Miami To Ny Race

I was a consultant to the group trying to put this race together. It was a $10,000 entry fee and we needed at least a million for expenses. We wanted to have 5 stops along the coast about 200 miles apart, so the teams would travel by road and the boats by water. It would have been a six day traveling circus from Miami to NY. Each day the boats would leave with the time difference that they came in with the night before.

And they wanted to film it for a tv show.

So who's go the mil? Lets git er dun. :D

Entry fees alone won't cut it, there's a ton of expenses prior to the race.

1,000,000 / 25,000 = 40 entries. I doubt we'd get 20 boats at $10,000 each plus the expense of running the race.

Entry fees were going to be set aside to pay the purse.

That would be an incredible event!
Serious offshore! I'd love to be involved in something like that. It's way outa my league. My lil boat only holds a hundred gals. I couldn't afford the fuel bill.
Who needs a navigator?!?

Maybe Scott and I could bring the "Little Yellow Cat" out of retirement for this one. A 25 Motion against a 24 Skater...do I hear any sponsors? :D
