Another alternative is to give Tres martin a call. He has a performance school but maybe you can talk him into some "private lessons" !!! Tres is one of the best also. (He's sick with neaumonia right now so get well soon buddy !!! I called you back today and Jackie said you were snoozing on the couch.) Dave

Re: Throttling a race boat

[QUOTE=Chris Sunkin]Which one? That JT and JG don't throttle or that a newbie might have it easier steering than throttling? If we're talking world championship level strategy in a multi-million dollar boat, I'm with you. If were talking new guy in a mid-level class with the strong unlikelihood of a championship, I think steering is the place to get practice.

Chris
You hit it my post on the head. I was referring to a front of the pack championship running (not necessarily 1mm $ rig though)Any class.

As the vid shows most anyone can hold the steering straight. I don't watch that newscaster but I give him credit for being in the boat when JT ran her up.( Add 2 or 3 boats next to him a hose down or two and 40 turns :)

Anyways, I agree driving would probably be the best place for him to get the feel for racing.

Best regards

Marc
