Chris,
We tried a number of intercom systems over the years, but the Revolution Marine system was by far the best. Especially if you are in an open cockpit boat, the throat Mics are the chit. They can be wired into your VHF easily and worked great for us all season with no failures.

I agree, I have heard nothing but good things about RM's Icom with the throat mic.
