Jim Black- thanks

In all the excitement and anxiety that precedes the throttles getting pinned.

I know you guys will agree how nice it is when he walks up a has a peaceful word or handshake before a race.

Thanks Jim

Jim Black is without a doubt one of the finest men that I know. Can't say enough good things about him. Our team always has a moment of prayer with Jim before each race. It is something that each of us look forward to.

Re: Jim Black- thanks

I am a non-racer, but have been an official with an offshore race club for many years. My husband and I had Jim marry us on the beaches of St. Pete Beach. He did a wonderful job. Even my strict Catholic in-laws loved him. Jim, if you're out there listeneng- THANKS!!

I will never leave the dock without Pastor Jim's arms around my team in Prayer! Thanks Pastor Jim. I told him Sunday I really needed "some" and he was right there next to my boat waiting for me before the race.

Jim is the best....I always enjoy chatting with him.

Re: Jim Black- thanks

Jim's comments in chapel on Sunday were around the Winston Churchill quote "Never Give Up". Running second all day but running hard payed off when Wildride's engine had a momentary loss of enthusiasm and we were able to pass them.

Never, never, never ever give up.....how timely.

Thanks for all you do Jim.

Jim's pre-race visit is the most welcome point off every event. The MOJO team drops all for his wisdom. Thank you Jim. Nice thought and post Mark!

Re: Jim Black- thanks

I will never forget the comfort that Jim offered the day Jack Stoerrle died in Daytona three years ago. We were all suffering and so totally unable to comprehend the tragedy. Jim was there immediately to see to us and help us all get through it together. I am so grateful to him for his wisdom and spiritual guidance and his friendship. He is a truly great man, and all racers and non-racers alike are better people for knowing him.

Re: Jim Black- thanks

My favorite from Jim was: "God, I am not looking for so much good luck for me, but less good luck for the other guys racing with me"... (or something to that effect)
Yes Jim is a GREAT person and I am proud to call him a friend.

Marc,
Outstanding post.

Like many, I too look for Jim for a moment before every race. Those Moments mean a lot to me, and Jim being there at each race is more comforting than he may ever know.
Thanks Jim,
Gordo

Thanks Jim!
We are very lucky to have you by our side.
Come see the Awesome boat before next race. The crash test dummies may need a little assistance from you and the man upstairs.

Thanks again,
Matt

When the chips are down what a good feeling to have Jim in Your corner. When Randy had his accident in Biloxi,he was there for all and when Justin was injured in Texas he was one of the first to the hospital. He is still there for the family and friends to help all understand "WHY" I could not imagine him not being in all of are corners!!

Jim is our moment of sanity in a sport that has none. Ron and I make sure Jim and God have their arms around us before we jump into insanity. Thanks Jim for the strength that we need! You are the best!

Re: Jim Black- thanks

Everyone can help in the effort to get Jim to each race to give the support and comfort he's famous for. Each month as you're writing checks for those dreaded bills write a check to Jim as well. Or, if you use a web-based bill paying system, set up an entry for RPM and each month a specified amount will be automatically sent to Jim. What could be simpler? Here's the address:

Re: Jim Black- thanks

Although I respect and admire Jim's committment to OSS and formally the APBA races I attended, I want to personally recognize and thank my brother Scott who has filled the spiritual void at SBI/APBA.

It is with good men like Jim and Scott that ensure a mindful eye is watching over us when we race.

Thank you.

Sean
