Who Can I trust....
with an idea I have for race boats ?
I don't have the finances nor the facilities to manuacture my idea, but I would like to run it by someone I can trust to see if the idea is good or not..... It's not something complicated, and I am not 100 % sure if such a part already exists. If it does, no one is using it that I know of. Does anyone have an idea of who I can talk to ??? |
Re: Who Can I trust....
Think about what is required and narrow down the field.

Re: Who Can I trust....
I guess with my boat building background, all of you may have assumed it had something to do with a unique hull design.
Well it does not. This would be more of an accessory to the rigging of a boat. And after the last few races, I see where this idea may have helped. So Julie, I guess it would be leaning toward riggers and custom performance shops... I have to agree about Tony P. Whatever he did to make that Super Vee have Fountains eating wake was simply amazing! Only if it were to have finished... I look forward to more races to come on that boat! |
Re: Who Can I trust....
Accomplished Florida Riggers.....that are trustworthy for starters. Fell free to ad to the list guys. Lets give Sharkey some input!

Come on.........tell us about it. :D :D I think I may want to get some input 1st. The idea can be totally off the wall and everyone can have a good laugh, or maybe it's something I could get a little royalty for? I think of a recent story of how a guy came up with the simpliest idea for snow plowing. He connected a relay to the reverse lights which then in turn raised the plow for you. It ended up saving a ton of time in plowing which meant big dollar savings in OT for townships. He told this idea to someone and they blew him off. 6 months later he finds the same guy at a trade show selling the relay he designed. The guy ended up sueing of course but may have only ended up with $19,000. I don't recall if that was before or after the lawyers fees. For him it wasn't about the money. He just wanted his name attached to the idea and that he came up with it. That much he did accomplish through the courts... |

Re: Who Can I trust....
Thanks everyone.
A bit late to make any calls tonight, but I think I have someone now in mind..... Once again, this wasn't for a fiberglass piece which I am sure now Tony P would be capable of... This was something completely different. Thanks again! |
Re: Who Can I trust....
Some good news and some bad news.....
The bad news 1st. I won't be able to tell you guys just yet what I have come up with.... :( The good news: After speaking to the best in the Marine industry, they didn't know of anyone off hand that has ever done this and they feel it is a good idea. Further research is being done.... I have been searching through Patents and I haven't found my idea yet in the Marine industry... It would be pretty cool if this idea was to take off. The more I think about it, the more uses I come up with... I've got my fingers crossed at this point. Hopefully it all works out.... :drink: |
