Re: Algonac Results
Great job to everyone there. Great turn out of teams and I wish someone had a pic of all the spectators there.
MD :D |
Re: Algonac Results
Randy, With the busy schedule between OSS and OPA. You still find the time to support OPA. Thanks for all the years of racing. Up for Point Pleasant? I wish there was some way to count the fans in Algonac. That had to be the biggest turnout I have ever seen. Smitty

Re: Algonac Results
Algonac was a great town and everyone one was so nice. Have to give hatts off to them. Great to see everyone!!!!!
Even got to meet some local people along the way!!!!!! Just dont remember some of it!!!! |
Re: Algonac Results
This race was a lot of fun and we look forward to doing it again next year, the fans were great and the town rolled out the red carpet. I don't believe that I have seen so many fans at a race in a long time. There had to be at least 10 thousand people watching along the river.

Re: Algonac Results
For those of you NOT there for this race, you have no idea what you missed in "FAN" support. For a small town there were loads of people and really exciting for us was coming around turn four, going about 1/4 of a mile and seeing thousands of race fans in their back yards and a park which went on for about a mile or better. We were about 25 feet off these docks, soooooo close I could have jumped off the condo and helped cook at all the backyard BBQ's, then to see all the fans jumping up when you come by clapping and as excited as the racers. A great day, THANK YOU ALL.

The truth is the original S/L heads were sent to me to evaluate and improve. S/L exhaust as received: All ports @ 28" h20 ( no cheater pipe) Lift......CFM .2........117 .3........154 .5........208 .6........227 .7........252 .8........265 .9........273 These numbers are after reporting exhaust: Lift.......CFM .2........136 .3........179 .4........208 .5........233 .6........259 .7........284 .8........296 .9........300 A pretty good gain but the venturi was a bit too big in diameter and the Flow numbers were still down. Because of this, and a crack in one exhaust port, we decided to start fresh with some 345 merlin heads with wedges. Lift.......CFM (exhaust port) .2........143 .4........200 .5........286 .6........300 .7........305 .8........305 .9........305 The ports peak at .700 lift due to the pinch point being at the flange (limited to header size). ;) BTW I still have the one S/L head if someone needs a spare |

Re: Algonac Results
Wow, I'm off the computer for a few days and missed all the great posts on Algonac.
Yes, Bounty Hunter finally had our day in the sun. From the looks of it, my secrete weapon sponsors are out of the bag. Big thanks to Marine Kinetics, Ateco Engines and Jim Valako for putting together a torque monster of an engine. Jersey Boyz, Konrad, R&S, US Auctions.com and BackDraft, go easy on us small-boat guys in Mentor on the open lake. I'm still bruised from Key West. Grumpy George and BK will get the kinks worked out of Rum Runners and will help us support to the claim that length doesn't matter! Really! Hat's off to Blue Water Offshore, OPA, all the Jersey Boyz the trucked in 15+ hours, the town of Algonac and the 10,000+ fans! Can't wait to see you all again in St. Clair. Stop by and say hi! Best Regards Mike, Jonny, CyberWrench-Nate, and the rest of Team Bounty Hunter |
