Re: 225 MPH Fountain?
I was never a big fan of Fountains. Till I bought one. Even at 38 ft. You can make that boat do what ever you want. Congrats guys. Smitty

Re: 225 MPH Fountain?
The motors in the boat when I drove it were obviously WAY different than when they ran it 175+ but it was very driveable for me. I would suspect the master showman wanted to be as dramatic as possible when they set the record.
I sure as heck don't want to run it at those speeds (175+) Smitty, Those guys you have to deal with after you win can really kill the fun, can't they ? Good Luck in your new effort. |
Re: 225 MPH Fountain?

I got this from a Fountain employee. Mike Not accurate, Mike. The boat got into the 160's several times and had plenty of throttle left. It also never broke anything. Each time after the test passes were made, we brought her back in to make adjustments only - - most of which were made by computer. The turbos were creating so much heat that they were scorching the fiberglass so some modifications were required there. This was definitely an R&D weekend for us and we've got two weeks to get her better dialed in for Panama City - - - should be quite a show. Alan |
