Insuring a race boat

I have a 29 Fountain and was wondering if there was a way to insure it for a day for a race. I was thinking about trying a POPRA P6 class, but what happens when you see pictures in magazines of boats that have ripped off a sponson or seriously damaged their boat? Do they just pay out of pocket for the hull to be repaired, or does the manufacture just do it?

Yes, they pay out of pocket. You can get insurance for theft, damage while on land, but once it hits the water your on your own.

Sure you can get insurance. $100K of casualty coverage would only cost you $110K a year ;)
