e85 racing
Out of curiosity, if a MFG would offer a e85 engine around 650hp would there be any interest in running it & do you think it would be good to promote the product to the performance boating public?

I think E85 is more of a gimmick, cost is a little less, but so is mileage so it's basically a wash there, and with the negative aspects of alcohol in marine fuel it just doesn't make sense. The only thing I see E85 doing is making corn more expensive and giving people/ politicians something to talk about. for anything to succeed, there has to be an advantage, a real reason to use it and E85 doesn't have that. The environmental benefits aren't there either, as they are offset by the increased use of resources to produce it.
