The competeition is spurred on by the boat manufacurer's and the teams driving them, one powerplant for all, you see no triples, no inboards, Just twin ob boats that fit the rules!
This is the problem here in the states, they let people build boats that dont fit rules, and when there is competeition we offer alternatives to a set class to race so they can still get their $10 trophy, and a world championship sticker.
25 boats, representing 16 countries. That is something to build on.
Has anyone else noticed no vees here?? and when you go to P-1 there are no cats???

Racing based on skill and abilty, not who can buy the biggest motor What a concept!!!!!!

This class was had very few changes in 20 years. It started as stock A with 200's. It was a big class in the 80's mostly Skaters and some others. It progressed to 2.5's with canopies at present.
Running at 100 plus in a 8000 lb boat is fun. Running 100 plus in a 4200 lb boat is awesome.
I think it would be great if the P class boats would race in SS in Key west.

Hmm ...Im not sure he was directing his comments toward any organization. In my opinion, he was Just stating how offshore racing should be, to be a marketable sport.
Less classes, more boats in each class. Whats so bad about that?

I have never seen a spectra SS boat in the states race...has anyone raced that boat in the last 6 years....
Also....and its just my opinion....I think in the ruffer waters... it gives a lot more boats the oppertunity to win...it takes away who has the fastest boat and it becomes who can hang it out there and make the least mistakes....
In the Ocean City race this year I found myself looking across from us watching the Bull On The Beach launching at the start of the race....
