X-Cat Round 4, DUBAI, Finals
The Dubai, X-cat finals didn't go as planned. 25 Boats entered, to a demanding, 13 lap, multi turn course. I messed up on the first lap and took a turn way wrong and cost us many positions, we were able to battle back and pass several boats to finish in 9th place.

The race was 13 laps of 3 different lap configurations. The start lap, 2 long laps and 10 short laps. I basically took one lap and turn way too wide. We fought back and passed 5 or 6 boats. I would rather finish 9th in a 25 boat race than 1st in a one boat race......

thanks for the congrats, what ryan didnt tell you is that he did 100 others racing moves correctly.he drove super and if you could only run one race with 10 boats within 10ft of you you could appreciate what he went through.as for adding 3 liter boats we dont need it ,what works in all other forms of racing be it golf carts or funny cars, shopping carts or ice skates two classes is one too confusing,at the begining of the race we all know who is racing who,and at the end we know who won.the series is here is what we run, build one and jump in.simple and it works.remember f1 and factory 2 boats.2years out 25 boats.we had it right.wish it could happen again.gb

Congrats:ernaehrung004:9TH in a field of quaity 25 boats is still a great accomplishment! That had to be one of the best races that you have been in.The format of mutipe laps with many turns and sections with calm and rough water must be a great challenge to both the drivers and throttlemen.Maybe someday a series like this could be developed here in the U.S.;but I guess the new regulations on ouboards may have an effect on that. The twin and single outboard cat are great classes in WPPA and UIM.Ryan, has the X-Cat series ever considered adding the single outboard(2litre) class to thier series? It woud provide for a cost effective entry to outboard cat racing;and be a great feeder system to the twin outboard class.I also think those small cats are among the coolest boats racing today:cool:
