The joint POPRA event with RPM Racing Enterprises in Dana Point on March 27th and 28th has run into an issue with the Grey whale migration. After going through all of the spotting and clearing plans (helicopter, boat, etc.) with the officials, the answer was that we would not be supported by the Dana Point Harbor. We believe that the site is a great location but the possible negative publicity from the whale activist groups could ruin any chance of future offshore events in the area. We are working with the Dana Point community to come up with a future date that does not conflict with OPA, OSS, or SBI race dates. We will keep you informed as thing progress.

Bought a race boat last year and had to do some re-rigging and rebuild on my motor. I was going to race with POPRA but decided to focus on doing the Catalina race instead. We're going to to do the grass roots race at Puddingstone this weekend and we've had our skiier out practicing a bit in the ocean as well. Good times...

We'd like to do mixed doubles, but that's going to depend on our skiiers. I'd say next option is over and back if they're both game come July and if not, then I'd guess we'll do Sr. Womens' (and this is totally a guess at which of our skiiers won't be ready based on who's been practicing).
We were out at Puddingstone this weekend doing the NWSRA grass roots series races. Had a great time.

Mixed doubles is two skiers at the same time all the way around... One skier's a dude, and the other's a broad.
I never even knew where puddingstone was before last week and I've probably driven past the entrance 20 times. Suprisingly senic.
