Because they are only 6 feet wide, 2390 pounds and run 70 MPH with a Honda 225. Its still a 24 degree V.
Honda Cougar 4 Stroke
Length overall 26’09”
Moulded Kevlar beam 6’00”
Weight 2390 lbs
Hull type Twin stepped 24 degrees deep V
Fuel capacity 35 gals
2400 pounds! Thats just awesome! Less than half of what a domestic 26 foot boat weighs...
For what its worth, they are for sale for around $28-30K US Dollars.

For one...I give them credit...they are running in ruff seas and they are running on the edge...when you run a boat like that you are putting it out there....
I would rather look at building a hull or getting one for 7 to 10k and run the ILMOR and a XR and...I talked to a Honda Rep and the 225 was going to be around 17k...I would rather spend the exrta money and have the Imor and xr reliablity, HP and performance with that package...but if I could build a 24 to 26 foot boat and put on a 200 to 250 OB with some kind of reliability and could run it with no tabs and still build it for around 35k...then that is something I would look back into...
After getting back in a 27 foot boat again...I got the bug to look into this all over...

Our 26 would be great w/ an outboard. Actually it's already set up for outboards and we have to modify it for I/O applications. If enough people would committ I would build them for a price that would be agreeable to all. We'd also campaign a boat in 2011 , let's do it! Keep pushing Gino!
