It was this buildup and excitement that could be seen and
felt during an encounter between John Carbonell and Viktor
Shemchuk, who have set new standards and decidedly breathed
new life into the popular and growing sport of sea races.
On July 29 in Homestead, Florida USA, the President of the
Super Boat International Production, John Carbonell, and the
President of the National Federation of Motorboat Sport of the
Ukraine, Viktor Shemchuk, discussed the development of an
exciting event scheduled to occur in both the USA and Europe
during this year and into 2012.
Mutual discussions and agreements have resulted in the
exciting news that the Ukrainian team will participate in the
Super Boat International races, scheduled to occur later this year,
in the USA.
The Team Ukrainian Spirit, hopes for victory as they compete
in a class of vessels similar to the Evolution and Super Sport (of
the version UIM), where the team is a favorite. An additional
participant in this highly anticipated USA event is the team Al-Al
from Italy.
"Certainly, we are glad to participate in the well regarded
and prestigious Super Boat International races and we look
forward to this as an opportunity to show our craftsmanship to
colleagues and fans in the USA. We are especially honored that
the events are scheduled between September 9 through 11th in
remembrance of 9/11. The event will be regarded certainly as
sport but also serves to commemorate and honor of the victims of
the terrorist attack, as the race is planned to occur in the
Hudson, beside the Statue of Liberty”, stated Viktor Shemchuk.
Later this year, from November 6 to 13, the Ukrainian team
looks forward to participating in the most famous of world-wide
championship races occurring in Key West, Florida.
Championship racing in Key West is legendary, as John
Carbonell, for 31 consecutive years in a row.
“We hope that our team and our friends, who after
believing in us, and supporting us, will join us from Europe as we
compete in America. We will proudly represent their teams and
their countries before the American public. We are ready to show
the Ukrainian spirit in America!”, stated Victor Shemchuk.
Mr. John Carbonell will be out supporting teams who are
new participants of Super Boat International in the US races.
Some of the strongest of the European teams and also teams from
Australia are all looking forward to participating in this
prestigious race of the series.
“We understand their challenges and will create the
conditions of maximum assistance and will welcome all teams. We
are proud that our partners in Europe support and encourage
participants to partake in the races in America”, stated John
Carbonell.
The best of the European teams will participate in
competition through standards set forth by Super Boat
International.
The partnership between Super Boat International and the
National Federation of Motorboat Sport of the Ukraine, will result
in Viktor Shemchuk serving as an authorized representative of
Super Boats International throughout Europe.
