Jacksonville 2012 race?

Hi Guys

Just looked at the SBI website, to see if they have any more information on the Jacksonville race weekend, and it now says "To be Announced April 13th - 15th" whereas before it said "Jacksonville April 13th to 15th" on the front page of the website.

The link of the the "To be Announced" takes you to a basic Jacksonville website still (no changes that I could see), but why change the front page?

Is this the first race to be affected by the Gratton Lawsuit possibly?

Hopefully not, but with less than 2 months to go before the first race weekend, having no map or the likes of where the race will take place (I was told the river?) it looks as though maybe the race is not going to happen?

Website back to normal!

Hi Guys

Just checked the SBI website again this morning, and it is now showing Jacksonville in the front page again (hopefully that is good news).

Still no real detail on the actual race page, but fingers crossed we will hear something soon :)

I live in Jax and there is no advertising or mention anywhere of the race. Also emailed SBI to see if they needed any volunteers or help putting up posters or anything and received no response. When i seen that the race was in Jax I was excited. I hope it happens.

This isnt one of the races that SBI does the prom. the city has a promoter that is running the race. Simular to Sarasota,Cocoa,Clearwater, and Michigan City.

This email just came from SBI:

Super Boat International has removed the Jacksonville, Florida race from the schedule due to the conditions not meeting the racers needs and the standard of SBIP.

Bummer. I was looking forward to it. Thanks for the update Ryan

Shame :(

Just heard from Stihl Racing that the race was cancelled too, not good news, but at least I did not waste my money on a hotel room for the weekend I guess!

What about the rest of the season? Are the rest of the races still on as scheduled? Will be at the Michigan City race and rigth now we are hopeing to make out first to to see the races at Key West.

To be Announced May 3rd to 5th

I see that the SBI website now mentions the race that disappeared a while back for May 3rd to 5th!

This was in the original schedule posted after Key West, but disappeared a while later, but now that the JAX raced has cancelled, it has reappeared on the website, so maybe they are looking to have a race somewhere else?

I think I will hold off booking anymore hotel rooms until at least the Cocoa Beach race has been held (already booked the hotel for that one).

So glad I held off booking rooms in Jacksonville though, that would have been a real waste of money without the races!
