The Gratton Twins-P1
We hope all is well after your roll over in Biloxi.
|
I heard they were OK.
|
Glad to hear they are OK.
What's up with those boats? |
Thats the negative to a one design class. All the boats are the same, so the only way to gain speed is max trim and make tightest and the fastest possible turn. If you are going to race boats like they are sprint cars they are going to behave like sprint cars. Better order some wings for down force.

Or run a bat boat. They come with wings. Not sure if it has only been driver error. Class 6 runs the same speeds and I can't remember a rollover.

Hold a class 6 wide open and try to turn it tight, see what happens. If you let off all in the p1 superstock class you will have a loss in your column. You don't have the power to make it up. That has been my experience anyway. Jeffrey McCann
I'm I saying we are better drivers than some of the p1 teams? Hell no.. Those guys have more races under there belts than multiple teams combined. So if its not the teams there is only one thing left ........ |
For what ever reason its happening they need to take a look at it and make some changes more of the same isnt good.
The Bat Boat might be something P1 sould look at they r much safer for sure . |

It's a spec class boat, without enough power, typical.
Gotta run them loose, and they don't have the power to set them. Example, our 38 Fountain is easier to drive and race with twin 750's than it is with 525's. The motors need to drive the boat. Not the boat drive the motors. Throw in some aggresive steps.....and presto. Fish bowl |

i will love to be schooled by you master, i'm trying to find a race i can come to with my machine. Great analogy Smitty, they need power to turn, when they start to slide , you DO NOT LET OUT OF THE POWER! its hard to turn anything w/out power. Looking forward to seeing you Smitty. Jeffrey McCann |
I don't know a thing about other US classes but I can tell you that they fall over in the UK as well (they also have problems keeping them in one piece).
............. and I think they're ugly too! |
